Our core team is here to serve, equip and lead our church into all that God has for us. We consider it a blessing to follow their lead, while we know that God has entrusted good work to them for our benefit.
At the Gathering we hold to the model of governing elders that we see in scripture for the leading of His people; His Gathering. Titus 1:5-9 & 1 Timothy 3:1-13.
The primary responsibilities of our elders are: supporting our senior pastor with the vision and mission, stewarding the financial resource and responsibilities, governance and compliance, and the teaching, care and correction of God’s people.
Adam and Marleis have served together in ministry for more than 25 years, with a passion for seeing people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and build strong families.
Their journey began at a church in regional NSW, where they met, married, and served, before stepping into senior leadership at another church, leading it from 30 to over 700 members. In 2013 they moved overseas to serve as campus pastors for six years, followed by a season of ministry in Canada.
They have three children, Malachi, Adelaide, and Joel. Adam currently serves as a Regional Coach, supporting pastors and leaders across more than 150 NSW churches.
Adam is a thoughtful and engaging preacher with a gift for making God's Word practical and relevant.
Marleis brings strong organisational and leadership experience, a worship-leading gift, and a deep love for healthy ministry and family life. Together, they are known for authenticity, servant-hearted leadership, and genuine care for people and the local church.
Adam and Marleis now serve as Senior Pastors of The Gathering.
