The Kingdom of God is Now

In this opening session, we discover the radical shift Jesus brought when He declared "The Kingdom of God has come near" - moving from centuries of waiting for a future kingdom to the reality of Kingdom NOW.

Introduction

Jesus made the Kingdom of God the central theme of His ministry, and as His disciples, it must become central to ours. But what exactly is God's Kingdom? It's not a physical place with thrones and castles - it's wherever God's will is outworked. The Kingdom exists in every space, place, and person where His rule and reign extends.

Audio Session

When we pray "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done," we're not waiting for a distant future - we're partnering with Jesus to see His Kingdom come to every heart and every corner of our world today. His mission as King becomes our mission as His subjects: proclaiming the good news, healing the sick, bringing freedom to captives, and demonstrating heaven's rule on earth.

Key Questions Explored:

  • What did Jesus mean when He said "The Kingdom of God has come near"?
  • Where is God's Kingdom and how does it extend?
  • What is the relationship between God's Kingdom and God's will?
  • How do we participate in bringing God's Kingdom to our world today?
  • What does it mean to be a subject of the King in everyday life?
